Big Fish from 3/30/ with 4 kids

Post from Captain Dave Hall with Top flight Charters

Fished little East of E can on 3/30 with Bandits 40-60 back. Speed 1.1- 1.6 depending on direction. Limit Catch
4 girls were absolutely great all day.  Big fish was 13.01# plus 2 12's, 11,10.

Best colors that day were white, purple, and chartreuse. Best color changes day by day, biggest thing i concentrate on is speed and depth. Wrong color in the right place will still catch a fish or two. feel free to ask questions.

April fishing is primarily a crank bait bite. go to lures are: Reef Runners, Deep husky Jerks, Bandit walleye deep. once the water warms up to 50 degrees worm harnesses start to produce. Areas to start at are in and around the Camp Perry firing range buoy lines, key is finding and marking fish. I hate blind trolling. Fish are always on the move this time of year!   Jigging this time of year is good on all the reefs in side the the firing range can. lots of males will stay on the reef when the females have long been gone. casting hair jigs bare or tipped with minnows will produce. color of jig changes day to day. local tackle shops have tons of them.
